In the beginning was the sound... it has been said in countless myths,
saga's, legends and tales that the first act of creation was a creation
of sound. All sound emerges from the stillness. All structure
is created from sound.
Webster defines healing as to make sound. We may
more accurately suggest healing as to become sound.
Sound therapy is now acknowledged as one of the most powerful vibrational
healing modalities. With a wide variety of applications and techniques,
sound therapy combines precise procedures with intuitive intervention.
From hearing the first sounds of a mothers heart beat in the womb,
we intrinsically experience sound as a natural form of healing energy.
Historically, sound has been used as a point of focus and invocation
in meditation, prayer, healing and ritual throughout much of the world.
As with so much of the mystical, our culture has lost touch with the
nature of sound as a healing vehicle, yet more and more healers and
musicians are focusing on the power sound has on our bodies and on
our wellbeing .One aspect of sound, like a chant or mantra, creates
a point of focus for the mindforce, through which, this intent forms
a basic structure, or energetic grid, which can enable energy to flow,
be contained, invoked, or built into a healing mechanism. The other
aspect is the carrier force of the sound itself. This is dual in nature.
The sound becomes a river upon which, through which, an energy may
flow. The sound also has an intention, a vibration, an essence, or
resonance, which can also be a healing mechanism.
Musical instruments, natural ambient and environmental sounds are
effectively used in sound therapy, to accompany meditation and other
healing practices. They create a powerful natural energetic resonance
with the five elements and their corresponding organs and energy centres
in the body.
Whatever the sound or modality, the sound itself, through its own
vibration or resonance, rearranges the molecular structure of cells,
lifts thought and energy into an elevated dimension (through pure
resonance), and evokes/carries a higher energy (intelligence, or quality)
through it, which interacts in the energy field in a variety of ways.
The sound resonance may function like a set of tuning forks, in which
the pure resonance of one tuning fork, once set in motion, will carry
waves of energy to the other, which by its like nature, will begin
resonating, or the sound may act upon the crystallized blockage of
energies in the energetic body as a pure tone might upon a crystal
glass, causing it to shatter, or quicken and release. The resonance
of sound may be sensed as a pure stream of energy, like a waterfall,
cleansing the energy field and re-energizing it, in a shower, or in
waves, of peaceful light.

"the person of science
says that sound comes from the spine, diaphragm, abdomen and
lungs...
the mystic says that sound comes from the soul, the heart and
the mind...
before it's incarnation, the soul is sound. it is for this reason
that we love sound" |

"this work with energy
and music is the spiritual work for the coming age...
when scientific research, spiritual practice and artistic expression
work together,
heaven and earth are in resonance...
this is the vibratory promise which is the gift of our musical
universe" |
